We’re pysched about the #LetsFaceItPeriod launch coming up next week. Next Tuesday, September 1st a group of period positive peeps will gather together to kick off a campaign to encourage productive conversations around menstruation and to help remove the social stigma. You’re invited!
Hosted by The Bushtember Foundation (think ladies version of Movember) and NFCC International, the night will feature food, drinks and special guest speakers including Toronto-based artist Rupi Kaur (most recently well-known for her period stain photo repeatedly deleted by instagram’s period police), Tanzanian model and philanthropist Millen Magese, and super model and humanitarian Mari Malek.
Here’s more about the event and the campaign:
Created by the Bushtember foundation and NFCC International, the one-month long ‘Let’s Face it. Period. campaign aims to foster the flow of conversation and de-stigmatize menstruation! Today, taboos and stigmas around menstruation continue to exist around the globe. In many countries women lack access to safe menstrual products and facilities to manage their periods, which in turn may lead to girls eventually dropping out of school.
Join us to make a change, de-stigmatize periods, and ensure that women and girls across the globe gain access to management methods that are often taken for granted. Let’s make sure that girls can stay in school and give their best to contribute to society.
We’re excited to be a part of it and hope to see you there! Get your tix here or click on the image below.
